About

Support space for people with learning differences, two kids sitting in window with books on their heads.

Hi! My name is Preeti, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way to my blog. My hope is that this space can be a source of support and insight for you – whether you’re navigating learning differences yourself or looking for ways to support someone you love.

How It Started

As a mother to a child with unique learning needs, I’ve experienced firsthand the complexities and joys of raising a child with ADHD, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia. This journey has brought with it a range of emotions: the challenges, the small victories, and the deepening understanding of what it means to celebrate each individual’s path. Like many parents in this situation, I’ve spent hours searching for strategies and resources, learning which techniques work, which don’t, and discovering entirely new perspectives along the way.

My experiences have taught me valuable insights, which I’m now dedicated to sharing with others. I know how overwhelming it can feel when you’re first faced with these challenges—when labels and diagnoses seem to reduce your child to a list of limitations. But I’ve come to see the beauty and depth behind these labels, too. For me, they’ve become a tool to understand my child’s unique qualities better, helping me find ways to navigate her challenges and tap into her strengths. Through this journey, I’ve learned that even though we might use labels like ADHD, Dysgraphia, or Dyscalculia, every child’s path is different, and each one of them has their own set of gifts and potential to reach.

A Safe Place for Us

I created this website to bring together resources in one accessible place. I know how exhausting it can be to sift through countless articles, forums, and books, hoping to find something that resonates with your child’s needs. Here, I aim to share practical strategies, tips, and tools that I’ve tried and tested with my own child, as well as ones that have come highly recommended by experts and other parents. You’ll find a mix of approaches on this site – some that have been incredibly effective for us, and others that may not have worked as well but might be just what you’re looking for. After all, every child is unique, and what works for one may not necessarily work for another.

If there’s one piece of advice I’d give to anyone on a similar journey, it’s to stay open and patient as you explore different strategies. Some techniques may seem perfect on paper but need to be adjusted to fit your child’s personality and pace. The key is to experiment, observe, and trust in your intuition. Often, the simplest approaches – ones that focus on building your child’s confidence, fostering their unique strengths, and addressing their specific challenges – can make a significant difference.
